Club Racers Span the Globe from New Orleans 70.3, Galveston's Lonestar weekend to Ironman South Africa...

APRIL 5, 2009--Club racers headed in all directions over the weekend to kick off the first races of the year.

Joe in NOLonestar in Galveston is a whole weekend affair. New Orleans sported rough waters, snakes on the bike course and a French Quarter finish (followed by a bus ride back to get your bike.).

Check the Discussion Forum for everyone's stories and some pix of the events.

Crawfish Boil Opens Season...3 Big Races Coming Up!

SUGAR LAND (March 29)--Last weekend's crawfish bash at Team Captain Tessy Phillips house, outdoor cooking by Kevin Godfrey, was the second sign of spring and the "real" start of triathlon season....

The first weekend in April is our first race weekend, with two big events on tap.

The Lonestar Triathlon weekend at Moody Gardens in Galveston has been very popular with club members since its inception a couple of years ago.

Also happening next weekend is the inaugural Ironman New Orleans 70.3...with several participants from the TriPsyclone ranks.

...So, Let the Games Begin!

BELIN PARK, Pecan Grove, TX(2/8/09)--The cold weekend weather of the last couple of months broke Saturday andPecan Grove Sunday...which officially makes it the 2009 Triathlon Season...

OK I made that up but folks are out riding...the MS organized rides are drawing huge crowds, like the one from Katy Mills Saturday. A few of us rode from Belin and others from Sugar Land Memorial Park Sunday.

If you are new to the club, our "default" ride is wheels on the ground at 7:30am Sundays at Belin Park in Pecan Grove for now (7am most of the spring and summer) (click on USEFUL LINKS above for a map of that area).

The Fulshear-Simonton-Brookshire area is fairly biker friendly and hundreds of cyclists are out every Saturday and Sunday for all over this area. I have riden in that area for about 18 years without incident.

There are other groups riding at different times...look at the DISCUSSION FORUM for other options if you want them.
